FAQs

What is an RDN?

A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist has completed an undergraduate program in nutrition and a one-year clinical internship program. Registered Dietitian Nutritionists must pass a national exam administered by the American Dietetic Association and maintain their registered status through continuing education and advanced degrees/certifications for areas of specialization and be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Be sure to check a person’s background and credentials to ensure you’re receiving evidence-based, credible, and sound nutrition advice.

What is Division of Responsibility in Feeding?

When you follow the Satter Division of Responsibility in Feeding (sDOR), your child will become Eating Competent. sDOR encourages you to take leadership with the whatwhen, and where of feeding and let your child determine how much and whether to eat of what you provide. sDOR applies at every stage in your child’s growing-up years, from infancy through the early years through adolescence. When you do your jobs with feeding, your child will do his with eating.

Do you take insurance?

Clients are responsible for payment at the time of the appointment. Many insurance plans will reimburse for nutrition consults provided by a Registered Dietitian. Be sure to ask about that on your meet & greet call with me. Additionally, many HSA and FSA can be used to cover nutrition services and supplements. Be sure to check with your card issuer before utilizing these accounts for services.
